Bloom moves to Danish Buildings in Hull Old Town
In autumn 2024, Bloom found its new home in the Danish Buildings. Just a few months later, we’ve settled into our top-floor space. The furniture is in place, the decorating is (almost) done, and we’re already welcoming clients and collaborators through the doors.
The picturesque cobbled streets of Hull’s old town have frequently attracted tourism, business and the silver screen alike, from the movie Blitz to the Netflix crime drama Bodies. Old Town preserves many historical delights, now repurposed for modern use. Whether popping over from Scale Lane Bridge or off of High Street, you can easily find Danish Buildings, which has been tastefully reimagined from a former 18th-century home into 20 stylish period office spaces.

Why Danish Buildings is the perfect home for Bloom Creative
After five years of operating in remote and shared coworking spaces, our studio was ready to find its own home.
We wanted a space to welcome clients, collaborators and have aspirations to host workshops and training sessions. Thanks to Steph Greaken from Allenby Commercial, we secured a top-floor office that perfectly fits our needs.
Bloom was drawn to the Grade II charm of the Danish Buildings and wanted to be part of Hull’s investment in preserving its heritage. It can be easy to forget that these brick-and-mortar buildings were built by skilled craftsmen or played a part in our city's community. Beyond their cultural significance, they also play an essential economic role by creating local jobs and boosting local businesses. Investing and supporting the restoration of historic buildings helps foster community pride and promotes sustainable development.
“We’re looking forward to offering in-person workshops, training, and consulting to connect more directly with our clients. We love Hull as a city and Old Town itself. It's great to have so many creative neighbours and be a stone's throw away from Humber Street, Trinity Market and Museum Quarter.” - Courtney Farrow, Founder of Bloom.

Thanks to Allenby Commercial's renovation, we have all the necessities a modern business needs, surrounded by rich history and architecture. The remodelling of an original listed building has allowed many growing businesses to stay in Hull without needing to move out of the city for larger premises, helping grow Hull’s talent pool and job prospects.
And, it is great to have so many thriving creative businesses as neighbours. Fred Marketing, the anchor tenant for Danish Buildings, Pink Banana Marketing and One SC Media. We’re also excited to join Emma Pooley Therapy, Twisted Rebel Designs, Mother North Tattoos, and many, many more.

Our journey to opening our studio in Danish Buildings
Bloom Creative was born in 2018 when History graduate and freelance copywriter Courtney Farrow was based at Hull’s Centre for Digital Innovation. Courtney found herself working with many different software and tech startups and realised there was a need for a content and copywriting specialist for founders in Hull.
Over the last five years, Bloom Creative has shared an office space with another Hull-based business, worked out of various co-working sites and - along with many people across the world during the height of the pandemic - operated from a kitchen table.
As Bloom Creative grew its client base, we realised we were drawn to working with a specific type of startup founder - one who was creating meaningful change for the planet and/or people.
Now we work with purpose-driven software and tech brands who share our vision for a greener, fairer future - from apps that champion animal welfare to technology supporting education and most recently a product that drives transparency and sustainability in manufacturing.
This is why Danish Buildings - with its rich history and thoughtful restoration in the heart of Hull - is the perfect home for Bloom Creative.
