Bloom Creative completes Creative Growth Hull and East Yorkshire
Director of Bloom Creative Courtney Farrow took part in the inaugural cohort of Creative Growth Hull and East Yorkshire this summer.
Designed to support ambitious and growth-orientated creative businesses, the programme promises advice and support to grow and access external investment.
Courtney originally signed up for the 12-week programme to get support on where to go next with her five-year-old copywriting and digital content creation business Bloom Creative.
The pioneer programme was packed full of expert workshops, one-to-one advice and guidance and Courtney found it to be a real confidence booster, giving her much-needed clarity over the direction of the brand:
βCreative Growth reignited my spark!
βI joined the programme feeling uninspired and not knowing where to turn next, after eight years of freelancing and five years running my creative business. However, the speakers and mentors not only reignited my spark and passion for what I do, it also helped me gain clarity and confidence to act on decisions Iβd been mulling over for years.β
The course content included everything from diversifying your creativity to financial resilience and finally a crash course in the art of pitching.
Most sessions took place on the leafy University of Hull campus, specifically at the historic Hull University Business School.
The final week saw participants pitch in front of three investors - nervewrecking but invaluable experience!
βWhile the content of the course was great to get stuck into, being a part of a small and intimate cohort allowed us all to develop and flourish in our own ways. Iβve been telling all the other creative freelancers in my life to get signed up,β Courtney adds.
Courtney has now completed the 12-week course and has huge plans for taking Bloom Creative to the next level - watch this space!
