Bloom Creative partners with Goodwin Development Trust to create internship opportunity
Alex Robinson has joined the Bloom Creative team on a temporary work placement, as part of the Goodwin Development Trust’s Create to Change employment initiative.
Created for young people aged 16-29, the project supports small businesses to give paid work experience within Hull’s creative and cultural industry.
Young people are given work experience in a variety of industries, including design, marketing, music production, event management and hospitality, as well as receiving personalised support from an experienced key worker.
We reached out to Goodwin Trust after hearing great things about the project from a few of our clients. The decision to get involved was twofold:
Our Director Courtney started out her freelance journey through a similar temporary work placement with a local company, so she wanted to give the same chance to someone who needed it. Also, as our client base grows, we wanted to gain some experience to help us grow the Bloom team.
Alex graduated from the University of Huddersfield with a 2:1 in Sports Journalism BA (Hons).
Describing himself as an enthusiastic, flexible, and hard-working person, who is passionate about sports, people and social media, he decided to sign up to Create to Change when looking for opportunities and experience in the working world.
“Having joined Bloom Creative, I’m looking to gain a further understanding and improve my skills in copywriting, social media management and digital marketing. Also, to gain and improve confidence and marketing skills,” says Alex.
“My particular passions are rugby league, football but I also enjoy other sports such as boxing and cycling. I follow Hull FC home and away. I like to watch films, spend time with family and socialising with friends in my spare time.”
Since joining us in February, Alex has thrown himself into work at Bloom, helping us to create engaging blog posts and content for clients, manage social media channels and even lent a hand at two Creative Point events, helping us capture the events on social media.
