Last week, we kicked off our first Creative Point event – an afternoon packed full of free digital content workshops aimed at small businesses and people who want to improve their digital presence.
We’re overwhelmed with the support we’ve had for Creative Point so far; all four of our workshops sold out and we filled 60 seats over the course of the afternoon.
Creative Point was founded by Bloom Director Courtney Farrow, freelance copywriter Tim Goodfellow and freelance social media marketer Matt Johnson. It’s aim is to inspire creative thinking in digital and bring together Hull’s creative and tech communities.
Our launch day consisted of three workshops – originally four, but the final one has had to be postponed for unforeseen circumstances.
Tim started the day with a session on How To Write Good, followed by Courtney who delivered a workshop on the art of hashtagging. Finally, we heard from Matt who spoke about podcasting and how to start one with a £0 budget.
What we loved most about the day was everyones enthusiasm and support.
We’ve already had suggestions about future topics for talks and workshops, including how to start a creative business, social media for education, how to predict social trends and alternative forms of marketing.
And, don’t worry, we’ve already got plans in motion to deliver that content in the new year.
In the meantime, we’ve got three incredible speakers lined up for autumn.
David Watson, Executive Director of External Affairs at National Museums Liverpool who has worked with organisations including Hull UK City of Culture 2017, English National Ballet and London 2012, is hosting our first event in September. Grab your ticket here.
